Expatriate Oriantation Training and 7/24 Support and Assistance Services
Adapting to a new country and a different culture can be a source of stress to be overcome for both the expatriates and their families.
Unknown things and unforseeable situations are a source of stress and anxiety for people.
To develop professionally in a new country, while providing good living standards for one’s family is not an easy task and it can be rather demanding for the expatriates.
A training, orientation and directing of the expatriates in the beginning of their term
could provide the necessary support and assistance for them and their families, hence, they would be able to have an easier transition and adaptation time.
Balancing private and professional life and relief of stressors will affect performance in a positive way and hence, the organizational climate and overall productivity will be enhanced.
In order fort the expatriates to have a positive process of adaptation to their new environment in Turkey and have an easier time during their stay in this country, we are offering the following services, training and orientation programs:
A. Preparation to Daily Life
Getting Work and Residence Permits
Your expatriates will be informed by Avita about the necessary documents to gather for getting work and/or residence permits for themselves and/or their family members. Once the necessary documents are gathered, applications will be made and the application process will be followed by Avita.
Getting International Driving License
To obtain international driving license for the expatriates and for their family members, the applications to the local police must be made personally. However, Avita will provide transportation of the expatriate to the local police, will facilitate and follow the application processes at the embassies and/or local police station.
Property Search and Home Rental Assistance
Avita helps the expatriate find an appropriate home for rent or sale within the preferred districts. The estate alternatives will be introduced to the expatriates and/ or their relatives with an accompanied area tour. Avita will also help for prepearing or advising on tenancy agreements through its team of lawyers.
School Advisory for the Expatriates’ Children
Avita briefs the expatriate and the spouse about the Turkish educational system and current international school options for foreign students. Avita also gives information about the appropriate schools for expatriates’ children, their credentials and fees. Upon request, the schools may be introduced to the expatriates with an accompanied tour.
B.Essential Orientation Traning (2 days)
The content and program of the training will be provided by our psychologists, lawyers, physicians and professional tourist guides and will be presented to the expatriates in English or French by professional guides.
The location of the presentation will be determined by the expatriate and the organization. The selection options are: hotel, house or the location of the organization)
1st Day (Cultural and Social Orientation)
Essential Informations
a) General information about Turkey (History, geography, religion, society and social situations, management and political structure, etc.)
b) Turkish culture, psychological differences and perceptions (work life, family, traditions, vulnerabilities, folklore, Turkish quisine etc.)
c) Daily living/practical and necessary information (education, transportation, health, laws and financial topics and suggestions)
Lunch
Touring the Vicinity
The expatriate and their families are provided with a tour of their vicinity so as to familiarize them with their neighborhood and environment (incl. Shopping malls, hospitals, school, police, religious sites – church and sinagogs etc.).
2nd Day (City Tour)
Places in the city that are a must see will be toured , assisted by a Professional tour guide. I.e for Istanbul:
Istanbul History and Tourism:
Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque will be visited, accompanied by a tour guide. The other important structures will be Dolmabahce Palace, The Süleymaniye Mosque, The Bozdagan Arc, the city walls, Kariye Mosque, Yerebatan Cistern etc.)
Lunch
Istanbul Social and Cultural:
Modern shopping malls and business centres such as Akmerkez, Kanyon, Cevahir etc. Taksim/Beyoğlu vicinity, Ortakoy/Bosphorous, Etiler, Bagdat Caddesi, Istanbul Modern, Koc Museum, Sabancı Museum, CRR, AKM and other cultural and entertainment centers will be visited.
C. 7/24 Assistance (365 days)
A phone number will be dedicated spesificly for the Company’s expatriates and/or relatives. The telephone will be manned by English and Turkish speaking coordinators.
Home Assistance
For daily maintenance and repairs (tv, antenna, plumbing, window repair, locksmith, electrical home equipment,etc) the nearest service provider will be routed to your home / place of need.
Medical Information and Assistance
Health advices may be given on the phone (no diagnosis , no medication advice), In case of need, doctor or ambulance dispatch may be made to your home, or to the nearest available hospital/clinic or health facility. In case of need, local or international patient transfers may be realized.
Legal and Financial Information Services
In emergency cases, (traffic accident, purse snatching, robbery, etc) necessary steps to follow will be advised.
On Site Help and Accompaniment
In case of need and upon your call (accident, hospitalization, custody, hearings,etc) an accompanying facilitator / interpreter may be send to the spot and may accompany during the procedures.
Information and Concierge
Information will be given on: Emergency numbers; taxi, flight, hotel, restaurant, cultural and sports activities, reservations, etc.
Information Tag Services
If requested, Avita may log with confidence the following information, and deliver them to relevant and preauthorized parties upon need: Medical information (blood group, past diseases, allergies, family doctor), person to call in case of an emergency, special numbers (passport, tax, ID, telephoone IMEI numbers, etc) |
